Question about the possible PS2 ODE

Post by evil_ash_xero » August 23rd, 2020, 8:47 am

I read about this in another thread. I know it's probably a ways off, but I was curious how this would work with the fat PS2?
Since it doesn't have a pop top, and has the eject thing going on, I wondered how the ode would possibly be hooked into it?

I know it's early on, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

If you're gauging interest, I would buy this in a half a heartbeat.

Would just plug into the DVD-ROM ribbon and an SD Card would be on the board. Games could then be copied and deleted as needed by LAN (Local Area Network). The original DVD-ROM drive would also work too.

Interesting, I was actually wondering how an ODE could fit in there since there is virtually no space inside the PS2 around the disc drive. However I'm worried about incompatibilities with modchips. I have a PS2 with a Matrix Infinity in it. I know of some incompatibilities with my modchip (with FHDB for example). One thing I'm not too sure about this ODE : is it gonna be for running PS1 games only or PS2 games too?

Wait, there's a ODE in development for ps2? Why just not use the fat model with a internal HD? I've been using for years and never had issues whatsoever.
