Kingsley Adventure black screen

Post by vj88 » December 21st, 2018, 1:17 am

Kingsley Adventure PAL has black screen and freeze after languages selection. I've tried a NTSC U copy and has black screen too but music keeps playing in the background.
Thanks.

Try using the EXTDSP mode K1V1.

Okay, seems to fail on K1V3. I'll have to change the logic back to the previous revision of it which does not save and restore the K0 register. This will be fixed in the next Menu System update for you and noted in the change log :)

This wouldn't break my Wipeout 2097 again, would it? ;-)

No it won't break Wipeout. That was to do with the CD-ROM reading routines.

I have tried this briefly using K1V2 setting and I seem to get into the gameplay fine using the NTSC-U verison. Not played much though but it may be worth a go.

We'll try and fix up that K1V3 assembler logic though because that shouldn't be failing with it.

Thanks! :praise Probably the NTSC copy that I have tested was bad... but PAL version doesn't work for sure, unfortunately.

Can confirm too that the NTSC redump copy using KV13 results in a black screen. KV12 works
NTSC JP 5000 PU-8/PSIO Switchboard
NTSC JP 7000 PU-20/Mayumi 4 chip + PSIO Switchboard

It works fine, but you must change the EXTDSP mode in the Menu System options.
