Thanks for your work on these detailed instructions, I'm glad there's a way to install PSIO on the smaller PS1 consoles, even if it's not very user-friendly

The guide is more un user friendly more than anything else due to poor translation and a dirty hack job by the looks off it.
Rather keep my warranty and wait for an official method.

I think a better way to do this is to add a parallel port to the PSone, has someone has a link to such a mod?
I think one can be based on this tutorial but we need a female ps1 parallel port. Is there a way to still buy one?

If you are worried about voiding the warranty on a $120 game accessory, you shouldn't be installing it on non-approved units. I do plan on installing to a PSone at some point in the future, and don't care about the warranty on the PSIO. I am good enough to know that what I do will work.

I don't know if they can be bought now or ever, but you could easily lift one from a non-working pre 900X series big unit. I think that adding a parallel port would require connecting many of the same points on the board to the plug.
