Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

No solution can work on PSone i guess right? I am interested into making my own project like this and I am learning VHDL now.. I would appreciate it if you guide me. You can install PSIO in a PSOne, but it requires a ton of precise soldering onto the PCB. Not worth the trouble, IMO. Better to just ...

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

Have you tried testing "PSIO" using "CD" service "Aging Disk Ver 1.06 16-05-1996 (PTPX-97002)" for PS1 diagnostics? I tried it and on one of the PSIO tests it froze. This is wonderful in its simplicity! Obviously, games won't work 100% if this official CD-ROM test isn't cleared on PSIO. I think it ...

We will check Nuclear Strike after these two titles are fixed. I haven't check FF7 yet, but the interrupt timing delay was completely removed so that should fix it :)
It was already almost like from the CD-ROM, so if the interrupt timing delay is gone, then it should be frame-perfect now.

Need for Speed is caused by a corrupted flag in the double-buffering logic. We're working on it :)
Awesome. If you know what's wrong, I know you will fix it. And let's hope that fixes Nuclear Strike as well!

What about FF7? Did the Jackie fix affect it?

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

Just focusing on Resident Evil 2 and Need for Speed. Once they are fixed, I'll go through and check everything else that was reported and get it organised :) Then fixing the CD results buffer table didn't help with those titles? I kinda knew the RE2-3 issue is something else and obscure since it ha...

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

I like that it says PSIO. The whole compatibility drama comes from the lack of frequent status updates. Right now, most bug reports should be archived because they are either invalid (they happen from the CD-ROM as well) or no longer true (already fixed on PSIO). On the other hand, some of the actua...

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

Agreed, and the people in the comment section of this video seem to be all convinced that X-Station is a superior product over PSIO. It will serve them right when they finally grasp all of X-Station's drawbacks. We won't know anything for sure until the end of the year, assuming X-station is releas...

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

How is the PSIO not 99% compatible? The catalog is enormous. Seems to me, their known issues are in the single digits. To expect unknown issues to be addressed is just stupid. Right now, there's quite a number of broken games. JIRA doesn't have a lot of entries for the smaller bugs, but they still ...

I tested NASCAR Thunder 2004 (USA) and it's definitely the same bug as with Nuclear Strike.

thanks, in this case there is no need to create a new theme for "NASCAR Thunder 2004 (USA)" because "Nuclear Strike" has a similar problem
Nuclear Strike also freezes after a while, so you should test NASCAR some more.

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

Assuming that this also fixes the stuttering issues, the only truly critical inaccuracies left to resolve would be on the audio side (slight CDDA delay and ATV clipping). Well, there's still Roswell Conspiracies, which needs some accuracy tweaks in terms of the CD-DA playback reporting. Other than ...

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

Don't worry about any drama. If the fixes are real, the tide will turn. Objectively, PSIO had a critical bug in the CD-ROM emulation and it was affecting a lot of games, not only Jackie Chan. Some might not have been bothered by the stuttering in certain games or the freezing in others, but the fact...

Trying like this - NO luck
Did you try without the .bmp file or after removing one of the two "." from the file name?

Is your SD card formatted to exFAT with 256 KB clusters?

So if Matt check it's no bug. What you talking about???
How can he find the bug if it's working for him? A bug must be reproducible.

Try one more thing - boot RE2 with MULTIDISC.LST, but after using the search function and then tapping X two times.

No CUE2?
CUE, not CUE2.

You need a CU2 files for multi-track games.

Re: PS1 Disc Drive Longevity Variance

So I just got off the phone with the technician, he says that most likely the laser in the PS1 is being picky and simply doesn't like the way the disc is scratched compared to the PS2. So a resurfacing will probably fix things. Resurfacing is not a solution. The laser is either bad or badly configu...

Judging by everyone's contributions, the bug seems pretty random to me, I am not sure I'll have same results if I repeat this test several times.
That's what I initially thought as well, so I decided to play RE3 for 30+ hours. The game never had a single freeze.

Change your .BIN file names to Resident Evil 2 - Dual Shock (USA) Claire.BIN Resident Evil 2 - Dual Shock (USA) Leon.BIN and use the attached MULTIDISC.LST. nope - don't work Change also CUE2 Sheet to remove () register on names You mean CU2?
