Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

I'm actually amazed you consider this game to have better graphics than any other PS1 game I never said that. Just better graphically than the RPGs I did on the PS1 so far Poor wording on my end. I meant to say that I don't think the game has good graphics at all, and that they are below anything s...

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

Some trainers were necessary, they made broken games playable or at least less grindy. Like legend of dragoon...ugh, I'm thankful to team paradox. I'm precisely playing Legend of Dragoon for the first time, on my PSIO. I wonder when it will get grindy, as this is one of the famous yet never re-rele...

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

We're still working on SD Card write support. LibCrypt patching will be done by adding a SBI (sub-channel) file to the game directory (exactly like adding a CU2 sheet). We should be able though to have the Menu System write it automatically for you :) Wait, does this mean we will no longer have to ...

Re: Final Fantasy VI Freezing at Cave to Sealed Gate

I am enjoying the game, but it seems that the snes version is better than the ps1 version. It's a matter of opinion. To me, the best version would the snes original with some of the restoration patches that have a gazillion bug fixes, decensorship, script cleanup etc. There are 2 different existing...

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

The PS1 version of FFVI is very interesting because the PS1 SPU plays the FFVI soundtrack differently than SNES despite the same MIDI arrangements. Some of it actually sounds better, crisper. The same with graphics because the video DAC in PS1 is better than the one in SNES, even 1CHIP SNES. Only p...

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

@Matt Is the sd card write support + memory card manager intended to backup savefiles? This would certainly benefit 100% PSIO testing for those that don't have a PS2 with FCMB to backup saves. Also, was that video you made about Sonic 2 on the PSIO, was that just a simple video or did you use an em...

Re: Final Fantasy VI Freezing at Cave to Sealed Gate

There are no problem with stability, though. https://tcrf.net/Final_Fantasy_VI/Revisional_Differences https://i.ibb.co/tQSw0vh/Screenshot-20201110-174622.png YEAH, OK.... That's not a stability issue. If you play the game normally, it will never happen (because it constantly loads something). And y...

Re: Parasite Eve hangs after the final credits from the Chrysler Building. FW 2.6.25

That's funny, I remember this game being extremely easy. I don't even remember that last boss battle. Must be getting old 🤣🤣🤣 It secret one, so it a bit harder. :) Well, well, color me impressed, I never knew about this secret boss back in the day, how could I miss it? Maybe another reason to fire ...

Re: Final Fantasy VI Freezing at Cave to Sealed Gate

Hi all. I have been playing through FF6 from the FF Anthology collection. File is from redump. I am currently at the Cave to the Sealed Gate. As soon as I end the short battle with Kefka the game locks up and freezes. Music still continues to play. I have tried all boot options however the issue re...

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

The SD Cards I ordered are working perfectly fine with Resident Evil 2 and 3. https://www.cybdyn-systems.com.au/forum/download/file.php?mode=view&id=2213 I see you have a 1TB card there...does that mean PSIO supports a card larger than 512GB now? My apologies if this has been explained elsewher...

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

I take it Matt can't fix this, or can it? CybDyn can optimize PSIO for sure. It's just won't be an easy fix involving a few values changed here and there. They will have to think about the whole PSIO<=>SD communication logic. This It will require a lot of work from Yuri and Matt to fix it, maybe ev...

AMG13 wrote: October 23rd, 2020, 4:36 am kikujade thanks, now I understand.
I just thought that PSIO has been using FPGA Ram for a long time.
I don't know what matt and yuri use it for (they most likely use it), but for multithreading they will need to use the FPGA RAM.

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

Correctly I understand what it means PSIO will never correspond to the declared promises? That is, PSIO is weaker than X-station? Not "weaker", just a different technical layout. PSIO needs to use FPGA Ram to achieve what the ESP32 can with its dual core. We're talking about multi...

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

Takehaniyasubiko wrote: October 23rd, 2020, 3:56 am The only thing I would add is that X-station has even less room with its chip, so if they could pull it off, it's theoretically possible on PSIO as well.
The X-station has the advantage of using an ESP32 dual core, which is ideal for this.

That's because I just quoted one of the PCSX devs, those aren't my words. Quite a brilliant guy also.
