Re: [Menu System V2.6.10] Bug Reports

Yes of course, I had no intention rushing anyone.

Also I wonder if disabling sorting will solve the long boot time, and missing items in the list.

Re: [Menu System V2.6.10] Bug Reports

Most if not all Playstation revisions can take any region of game with no problems.
As far as I tested.

Re: Menu system and firmware hate each other?

This is impolite of me, but this is an excellent example of how not to buy a PSIO.
Let this be an example for forum lurkers that have yet to acquire the PSIO.

Might I ask who is this "retro game retailer" that sold you the PSIO and sent you the reddit firmware?

Re: [Menu System V2.6.10] Bug Reports

I'm using the pal-uk version of tomb raider. Perhaps the problem is not there on other versions or less noticeable. Tomb Raider 1 v1.1 NTSC-U here. I should have pointed that out to avoid confusion. I hear "we" bit in the Mansion tutorial on my PSIO using the NTSC version. Yes, you can hear it but ...

Re: [Menu System V2.6.10] Bug Reports

Thanks! An image worth a thousand words (and opinions). To me it look like this game/console uses the CD-Audio Attenuation for sort of a very short 'Mute' function. There is a possibility that the Playstation uses ATV in every CD Audio track for the first 50ms to prevent clicks, and not only for Tom...

I think I might send a donation to uBlock, so useful.

Another thing, when I write @Matt I expect a reply form Matt, please respect that, thank you.

It is on 100%.

Two things:
1. I don't feel like arguing with you today.
2. Please stop quoting the images, we don't need to double them.

Re: [Menu System V2.6.10] Bug Reports

Alright, it is definitely the lack of ATV emulation. The original track (FLAC) is much louder in the first 30ms, but the Playstation uses ATV to fading-in in this part. The PSIO does not have ATV emulation yet, so it is cutting the fade-in completely until full volume. https://i.imgur.com/Zvmtbdw.png

Re: [Menu System V2.6.10] Bug Reports

Actual recordings from CD vs PSIO:
.BIN is redump accurate and CU2 is also accurate.
Image

The menu music is also slightly cut on the PSIO.
Only a few milliseconds.

EDIT:
You know what, it looks like ATV fade-in,, comparing to the image above of the FLAC file.

Re: [Menu System V2.6.10] Bug Reports

@Matt Sounds like the PSIO is cutting a few milliseconds of CD Audio when starting to play, with a proper CU2. For example, in Tomb Raider 1 (v1.1 US) in Lara's Home, audio track 26 starts with "Welcome to my home.." , but The initial "We.." sound is missing, that's only a few milliseconds. Could b...

Re: binmerge: A Python script to merge multibin+cue to single bin+cue

Here is a small batch file that does everything automatically. All you have to do is extract these 3 files (in the zip) in the multi .bin directory then just drag and drop the .cue on the .bat file . I specifically renamed the files with "~" so they are grouped and always first in the folder, so it'...

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

I am going to assume that the last few bin files I tried are probably not ripped correctly even though the crc32 total matched in redump? The chances of that are zero. CRC32 is very reliable, and is part of almost every hardware that transfers data like wifi routers etc. One should assume exactly t...

Did you test with MC68HC705:SCEI on your 5500 now?
Looks like Chrono Cross doing secondary bios license check.

Re: binmerge: A Python script to merge multibin+cue to single bin+cue

binmerge was created specifically for the PS1 Redump project, so it definitely doing something right. I really hope you can fix System Console for the next firmware release. and btw, I don't like how it moves my original files to "FODLER_",,, all it needs to do is move the new .BIN and .CU2 in a new...

@NRGDEAD You can probably do an excellent CU2 Fixer in python,, that will be much faster than copy pasting to and from the Excel sheet I made.

Matt knows about this bug for months now,, but the System Console was never fixed for multi-bin merging.
So 'waiting' is not an option.

Re: binmerge: A Python script to merge multibin+cue to single bin+cue

SC creates correct CU2 from a single bin+cue (from binmerge) of a multitrack game.
So you will have to check your original folder.
