Re: Final Fantasy VII loading screen

Glad Matt was able to confirm it. I personally can't see any difference with the naked eye.

Re: Final Fantasy VII loading screen

I don't know what blue bar you are referring to? What is the timestamp? Are you referring to the static garbage below the Sony Computer Entertainment Screen? That's normal. It does that on real hardware and emulators. That's the overscan area that we didn't see in 1997 on a tube TV. Lazy developers ...

Re: Final Fantasy VII loading screen

Your video looks normal to me. They all seem to play about the same for me on a real CD, PSIO, and X-Station.

This is from a real CD.

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

I do appreciate the work that's been put into PSIO but was really saddened when it was to be ready by the end of this year. Then it became Q1 or Q2 of 2022. Not trying to be negative but one can only hope we get there... :flag

Re: Final Fantasy VII loading screen

As far as I'm aware what you are referring to as glitches or lagging in some areas is normal. I've played this game from CD (US NTSC console and copy) and when you run around in cave, climb a ladder, or in a larger city, the CD drive seeks when it needs load something in the area, and it does this b...

Matt wrote: September 15th, 2021, 1:31 pm If you go to the options and change the mode (even without saving it), it will use that selected EXTDSP mode.
Yes that’s if you load menu.sys correct? If you boot the game image direct with no menu.sys, is it loading what ever mode was saved last? Or does direct game booting default to midboot?

Re: Final Fantasy IX

You can't at the moment, but you should be able to change it in the Menu System before booting your game via USB (the same as SD Card mode) :) Ah yes, you are correct. It's just booting via Midboot when I loaded menu.sys which is what I always have it saved to. So when you boot a game direct, does ...

Re: Final Fantasy IX

How did you load FFIX via USB. Did you boot the Menu System first or did you just boot the game directly? Yes Ioad the menu.sys file, stop and close the image, then open and run image, FFIX, Okay, and what EXTDSP mode were you using for the USB test? I wasn't aware you could change it with Systems ...

Re: Final Fantasy IX

Okay so it needs K1V2 via LoadExec then it seems for sure. Thanks for testing it! :D After further testing I would say it may or may not need K1V2. I went back and tried with K1V2 and Midboot. The freezes at these spots seem to be random with both modes. Sometimes they freeze, the orange light stay...

Re: Final Fantasy IX

I decided to try this for an hour today. I got past the ATE described above with midboot. However just a few minutes after that, you have to talk to Vivi in a room, exit, there is flashback scene, the screen goes white, and freezes. I didn't bother testing K1V2 since multiple people have reported it...

Re: Final Fantasy IX

If you do a search for Final Fantasy IX it has been reported that K1V2 is needed for this game. I have no idea how relevant that is to the current firmware but give it a shot.

Re: MemCard PRO Support?

Just an FYI there has been a recall on the MemCard PRO. Apparently there is an OLED issue if you use two at the same time.

Re: MemCard PRO Support?

I got my MemCard Pros and I must say they are quite nice. If there is one negative thing I have to say is that I was really surprised at how warm they get. I wasn't expecting that. I went into the web gui and shut off the OLED after 30 sec of no activity. Didn't seem to make any difference with the...
