Re: Multiple Choices for Background Music

I actually tried contacting the original composer of the DEMO 1 song (since if you listen carefully, it's been poorly shortened which means there is a full length original somewhere), but I didn't have any luck.

Re: Multiple Choices for Background Music

Yep, DEMO 1 is easily one of the best tunes. Funny, I was actually adding it in! I'll finish the code and get it done for the next update :)

Re: 1TB Lexar Professional Compatibility

It should work fine so long as it's formatted as exFAT. Yes, the limit is 6 games to a MULTIDISC.LST sheet. You can put however many things you want into another folder but it's pointless since it's ignored by the Menu System.

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

They only setup interrupt and direct memory access hooks in memory. They don't actually install any drivers :) Yeah, we have no idea why Jackie Chan [NTSC] freezes. It only seems to freeze in the lobby. All the levels run perfectly fine. I think it's a bug in their code that worked on the original d...

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

CDBIOS.COM just sets up the IRQ addressing for the emulator card which gives the PC access to it over the ISA bus. DEXBIOS.COM does the same but for the DTL-H2000.

No ideas why it works on that stupid PSY-Q CD Emulator? It has some documentation. Studying it doesn't show any important differences in data read compared to PSIO?
Nope.

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

There's one more idea we want to try which is confirming the data in the the results buffer. The NTSC version might be checking it for a certain value in the buffer.

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

Yeah we've decided to cancel working on the NTSC version of Jackie Chan. We cannot find a solution or any possible lead as per why it fails. As mentioned though, the PAL version does work fine so it is playable if you use that copy (just patch it using the BRT LibCrypt patch since all other patches ...

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

I understand you've dedicated a lot of time already trying to solve the issue and that it must be very frustrating at this point, but maybe instead of "calling it quits", you can move on to something else for the time being and let the ideas come to you rather than search for them? I agree, but it'...

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

Yeah the PAL version works perfectly (once LibCrypt patched otherwise it will freeze on level 3), but the NTSC version does not and it's seriously doing our heads in. We cannot figure out what on earth is going on with it! This the one you tested (3rd) one on the list for Jacky Chan PAL protection ...

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

I'm not sure. You can mention the problem we're having with "Jackie Chan: Stuntmaster [NTSC]" and see what he thinks. I just tried running it under NO$PSX V1.0, and it works fine in that too even though the SPU fails! The SPU issue was fixed in (the late) V1.9 revision, but what's weird is it didn't...

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

We tried comparing the PAL and NTSC versions, but the code is way too different to even begin finding where they have changed stuff. The VLBANK lead we had doesn't seem to be the issue and it's not a sync issue either. We even disabled command 0x15 (CdlSeekL) in the NTSC version, and for some reason...

The FPGA can't access the GPU directly or Sony video DAC. The games video output must be adjusted afterwards by the user (EG: by the controls on a CRT or the settings in an OSSC).

Matt is that response also to my original post in this thread? No, your mainboard should have been shipped by now. I'll check what's going on with that actually! We've just been very busy. What was your order for 'berserk'? Thanks for responding, Matt. It was for a Switch Board Kit. I totally get t...
