What version of the disc is locking up? Rev 1 or the original?
I tried FF6 from the anthology compilation. I don't have any other version, but it should probably be the same for all rev / versions.

Re: Final Fantasy VI Freezing at Cave to Sealed Gate

I put sarty51's save on my MC and tried FF6 with Midboot. The game freezes after kefka says "Frightful energy!!" shortly after the battle with him. You can press R1+L1 to run away from battles to get out of the cave faster.

I actually don't know FF6, one of the many games I want to beat.

Re: How about a list of games that require specific modes?

Okay, as promised, here is the list of all games that need k1vx mode in NTSC-U set for booting with V2.6.27. That's why, Fighting Force, for example, isn't here, it boots in MidBoot. As I understand, the higher version is, the better, so if game worked for me, for example with k1v4, I didn't test i...

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

https://twitter.com/i/status/1326929022861905927 https://youtu.be/rDJ8AF37Epo This is war!? :) What the hell is this? Is this emulation running on PSIO? Or is this krikzz' everdrive paired with PSIO? I don't get it. This video is normally not visible on Cybdyn Systems' Youtube channel so I guess th...

Re: Quake 2 controller Game patches in menusystem

I didn't know there was a patch for the controls of Quake II until I saw this topic. So I decided to give it a try yesterday night and it does make the game easier to play and more enjoyable. You do have to pick "Both Sticks" in the menus to get the best controls. I played through the levels of Miss...

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

Pretty sure we've finally perfected the CD-ROM code in PSIO. Now we can finally focus on the others tasks which are overdue :) What are you basing this on? We still haven't heard from multiple people who reported freezing in various games, like Persona 2 and Final Fantasy VI. I can talk for myself ...

Re: Jackie Chan Stuntmaster (USA)-low fps "MS V2.6.26"

Jackie Chan Stuntmaster froze for me today during the 6th Level. I was about to create a topic for it then I saw this one. Maybe you should have since this topic is about the framerate? Can you compare the framerate between PSIO and CD? I'm sorry but I'm out of blank CD-Rs. Also, I made a mistake, ...

Re: Resident Evil 3 USA/NTSC 100% Hang - Menu build .23

I got a blackscreen right after the 'this game contains scenes of violence' screen on .24. I've played a bit on .25 and it runs really smooth, no problem at all.

Re: Menu System v2.6.23 reset broken at random

There's something I've been wanting to report, it may or may not be linked to that issue here. Remember the hard-reset mod that pyroesp did? He made a polling version and then an interrupt version. When I tried the interrupt version, I tinkered a bit with his code. One thing that I did is add elonga...

Re: Did I buy a genuine PSIO or not?

It doesn't look like a genuine cartridge to me. Matt will say for sure if it is or not, but to me it's imitation. On a side note, the soldering job on the switchboard was poorly done.
Edit : the switchboard doesn't look genuine either. It looks like it's missing the diode in its design.

Re: Terraonion announces upcoming #MODE support for the original Playstation

Could be interesting. However MODE is about twice the price of PSIO or even XStation. I hope for that price that you get something extra over PSIO or XStation or else it's not worth it.

Re: Disable Dithering

I've come to believe that the creators of Silent Hill designed that fog with composite output in mind. That's what most of us got to play with after all. Composite's blurriness turns those dithering pixels into fog somehow.

Re: How about a list of games that require specific modes?

I'm out of PSIO cartridges since I sent mine back to Matt. So I can't confirm the reports to add them to the list. Right now only zePeido and me can edit the list. It would be good if others could edit the list too. I'm thinking of NRGDEAD, Takehaniyasubiko and James-F.

Re: Question about the possible PS2 ODE

Would just plug into the DVD-ROM ribbon and an SD Card would be on the board. Games could then be copied and deleted as needed by LAN (Local Area Network). The original DVD-ROM drive would also work too. Interesting, I was actually wondering how an ODE could fit in there since there is virtually no...

God Almighty! That X-station installation is absolutely horrendous.
Agreed, and the people in the comment section of this video seem to be all convinced that X-Station is a superior product over PSIO. It will serve them right when they finally grasp all of X-Station's drawbacks.
