Re: Final Fantasy VIII crashes with newest firmware

Very strange because neither I nor Kito are getting this, despite testing the same area in the game extensively.

Your installation might be the cause here, but this is just a guess.

Another guess - did you try taking out that non-Sony memory card out?

Re: Final Fantasy VIII crashes with newest firmware

Your multidisc.lst seems fine.

However, I wasn't able to replicate your issues in the game.

Re: Final Fantasy VIII crashes with newest firmware

Thanks, I'll check it out.

(Make sure your multidisc.lst is formatted properly - you only posted the filenames from it.)

Re: Final Fantasy VIII crashes with newest firmware

Also, which FFVIII version are we talking about here?

Post you checksums for the .bin files.

Oh, and post your multidisc.lst file as well. That caused some freezing in the past.

Re: Final Fantasy VIII crashes with newest firmware

What SD card are you using?

I will check this tomorrow, but I doubt the game is broken because at least few people played it on the current public firmware.

Re: Final Fantasy VII

That English retranslation patch is broken on real hardware and it doesn't seem like the author has any intentions of fixing it.

This thread should be archived.

It is on the to-do list: viewtopic.php?f=80&t=3622

Hopefully, it will be taken care of after Memory Card Manager, SD Card Write Support and some of the recently found BETA bugs are out of the way.

Re: PS1Digital Per-Game Settings

8BitMods doesn't have any say in PS1Digital's firmware roadmap; it is Dan and Chriz's project, and Chriz has already publicly said that any ODE could support this feature. Except PSIO is not an ODE, so there's that wordplay going on. Only time will tell. So far, CybDyn didn't get any offers. Seeing...

Re: PS1Digital Per-Game Settings

If they share the information with us on how to communicate with the HDMI mod, then we'd be happy to add support for it. I'll need them to send me one though since I don't currently own one (I just use the OSSC). Seeing as it's a line of products sold by 8bitmods, I think they only mean X-station a...

Re: MemCard PRO Support?

Archiving PS1 saves was always easy and cheap thanks to PS2's homebrew and USB support. With PSIO's memory card manager, it's going to be even easier. That MemCard PRO is absurdly expensive and redundant in functions, especially if you're not from UK (TAX). But there is a market for overpriced retro...

Re: Final Fantasy IX

We have a list like that, but it makes little sense right now because the compatibility keeps changing.

FFIX used to need K1V2, then it didn't, and now it seems to need it again. :?

Crisis Beat used to work with K1V2, now it has a bug with Load Exec. :(

The firmware just isn't stable yet.

Re: Crisis Beat (PAL) freezing in FW 2.6.28

Summing up.

With Midboot, the game will freeze.

With Load Exec K1V1-4, the game is bugged because the demonstration doesn't exit and you can't input START to get back to the main menu.

Re: Crisis Beat (PAL) freezing in FW 2.6.28

IMO, you should just join the BETA and test the newest firmware. I don't know what's up with that CRC difference. Matt will known, though. I will loop this game in Mednafen and see how the demonstration is supposed to work. If it turns out you're not supposed to control the character, like it happen...

Re: Crisis Beat (PAL) freezing in FW 2.6.28

OK.

The Japanese version needs K1V2, so it's strange the PAL version can't work with it, but such things do happen. Unless, of course, it's designed so that you are supposed to defeat the enemies in the demonstration?

You should join the BETA channel, BTW.

Subpar frame pacing. The game stutters a bit more than from the CD-ROM, especially when it streams large areas.

Re: Need help with older FW update!

eBay is not verified, even if http://powrupgaming.com/ itself is.

If you bought a genuine PSIO, you must be able to update freely from CybDyn. How can you be locked out with a genuine product?

Re: Need help with older FW update!

Why did you buy some unwarranted "PSi0" from eBay, yet come for support here?

Why didn't you buy a legitimate PSIO from CybDyn, with the full support?

Man, please think logically for a second here.

Re: PSIO Development Discussion Thread

This thread just died huh? IS everyone now in a secret BETA firmware thread? I miss the updates here... Actually, no. Simply nothing new transpired. The fixes you see in the latest Menu System thread are the last news we have. BETA testing didn't find any new issues so far. We're mostly waiting for...
