Re: Gokujou Parodius Da! Deluxe Pack (J)

"It eventually froze completely on me in the middle of a stage" - that's not a normal game behavior and I'm sure you can actually complete the disc version (lol).

Re: SD Card failed to initialise after playing PSIO intro video [Menu System V2.6.27]

Cybdyn recommends 256 KB for exFAT.

Microsoft recommends 128 KB for exFAT.

Anything lower or larger is unsuited for most SD cards.

This Game Shark disc is overwriting the EXTDSP code. That's it.
Overwrites it by using the same address in the memory. Is it possible that some retail games will be discovered to do the same? If yes, it's better to try and fix this beforehand.

Some do, but that's why we have a few versions of it (IE: K1V1, K1V3, etc).
But I mean the specific address used by this Game Shark CD since it doesn't work with any of the EXT DSP modes.

Re: Cheats 'N Codes Volume 1 (USA)

Okay we did some tests on the disc, and it's just a Game Shark CD. They are using the address where we store the EXTDSP hook for XA/CDDA playback to keep a pointer callback for the cheats. I mean, cheats should work, but there will be no XA/CDDA since it overwrites our hook location. It may be fixa...

Re: SD Card failed to initialise after playing PSIO intro video [Menu System V2.6.27]

Well, there is that one cluster where it stalls for ~20 ms. Maybe you're unlucky and that's where PSIO fails to read it? Personally, I believe it's not about stalling, but about some incompatibility between certain SD card chips and PSIO's SD access code. But other devices of this kind (like X-stati...

Re: Cheats 'N Codes Volume 1 (USA)

It's a verified rip, so there's no problem with the disc image.

If the music works on Mednafen, it should also work on PSIO.

Re: Final Fantasy VI Freezing at Cave to Sealed Gate

BTW, loading times are very good with PSIO, maybe there is a difference if you measure it with a timer, but I could easily think that I'm playing from cartridge if I didn't know better. They are the same from a healthy CD-ROM. Most people played this version with worn-out CD-ROMs and didn't realize...

Re: Final Fantasy VI Freezing at Cave to Sealed Gate

Like I said from the start, it looks like a timing issue since it was freezing the same way in emulators many years ago, before they got more accurate.

Re: Final Fantasy VI Freezing at Cave to Sealed Gate

Yes, you did it correctly, sarty51. That's a raw save file, which is what's needed on real hardware. Matt will just have to copy it to his MC and check the freezing.

You should also explain to him exactly where to go and what to do after loading that save file.

Re: Street Fighter Collection (USA) (Disc 1) (Rev 1)

ka55's CU2 is for Street Fighter Collection (Disc 1).

kito's CU2 is for Street Fighter Collection (Disc 1) REV 1.

ka55, check the REV 1 version of the game.

Other people are even more toxic so I'm gonna be toxic too! ;P
It's not toxic to talk about actual faults of a given product. That's why I always pointed out every little bug in PSIO.

It's toxic to shit on product A and then deny the same issue when product B appears.

I added disc 2 to the folder with cu2, and added it to multidisc.lst and even then the song continues to function normally, it didn't make a difference.
Try disc 2 without CU2.

If it also doesn't make a difference, it's probably Kito's formatting of the multidisc.lst file.

Did we take a left turn in to the "Shittalking other ODEs thread"? Could've sworn this was for discussing PSIO development... This isn't even 1/1000 of the shitting done by the competition. Just that Voultar video alone should be displayed everywhere as a perfect example of how NOT TO review a prod...

In the game folder there is only .cu2 and .bin from disc 1.
Then your multidisc.lst doesn't matter since there's only one .bin there.

Put both .bin files there and check.

Re: Street Fighter Collection (USA) (Disc 1) (Rev 1)

I put a MULTIDISC.LST file in the street fighter collection folder and even then the street fihgter 2 turbo songs continue to function normally, in my case it didn't matter whether or not the multidisc.lst file was in the game folder. Do you have CU2 files for both discs? Maybe it doesn't work for ...
