Re: PSIO Linux Users Guide

I'll have to try it out with single-bin and multi-bin images and check for errors. Multi-bins should just output an error along the lines of "can't do multi-bin". Though I am somewhat thinking about adding that, but since there's binmerge, which also uses Python, there's hardly an advantage except ...

Re: Inuyasha

I'm not completely sure, but if I remember correctly, EDC only hinders the reading of the disc. The erroneous sectors are not used at "playback" time.

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

The reason of the PSIO's existence in the first place is to be able to play games from SD card and not from CD-ROM. Non working drives and the probable inability to fix them is one of the reasons to get one. If you can fix your drives, hey, more power to you. However, not everyone else can or wants ...

Re: Official DCIO News and Development Thread

Would that even be reasonably possible in case of the PSX? There have been quite a few different layouts/drives over the production run of the PlayStation.

Re: PSIO Linux Users Guide

I consider it a bit less experimental now than when first conceived. Ever from the beginning, compatibility was/is the highest priority. And when the input cue sheet is valid (and not for a multi-bin image), the CU2 sheet being created is bit identical to what the Systems Console would output based ...

Re: Inuyasha

Are the images Redump compatible?
You can get checksums (MD5, et cetera) with this command line tool from Microsoft if you are using Windows. On Linux/Mac, you can use md5sum or md5 on the command line.

Re: Cue2cu2: A Python script to create CU2 sheets

I have updated Cue2cu2 with a few improvements: Most importantly a new option to manually specify the file size of the binary file in bytes instead of obtaining that from the actual file. This comes in handy when you have only the cue sheet and want to convert it for someone else. The argument/param...

Re: Stahlfeder - Tekkou Hikuudan

If you can provide the cue file (using the forum's file attachment feature) as well as the size of the merged bin file in bytes, I can try creating the CU2 sheet for you.

What do they say about a watched pot never boils?
"I have boiled the same amount of water in this kettle 62 times. In some cases, I have ignored the kettle. In others, I have watched it intently. In every instance, the water reaches its boiling point in precisely 51.7 seconds."

About the SD clusters size, what do you recommend for a better compatibility?
256 KiB regular, if something doesn't work it's worth trying 1024 KiB.

Re: Mega CD

Hm, apparently Terra Onion has moved from Spain to Andorra, a country which does have EUR as their currency, but are not in the EU. Thus, on top of what you pay for the MegaSD comes import tax and so on for EU customers.

Is the ETA still on/before end of this month?

Re: Stahlfeder - Tekkou Hikuudan

Good question. In general, might be a mismatch between cue sheet and image file, but if both are Redump compatible, that's virtually ruled out. If they are from different sources, it might be due to varying reading offsets of the drives used. That's why I suggest to not mix images and cue sheets fro...

Re: Stahlfeder - Tekkou Hikuudan

The Systems Console bug should be fixed in the upcoming update, if I remember correctly. It should also work if the files are on a local, preferably NTFS formatted volume (like your desktop) and named sequentially. The order can be wrong because Systems Console doesn't (yet) itself order the files a...

Paying extra VAT on personal goods is a joke. I understand taxing items for commercial use but hey that's the government for you.
If someone were to import the PSIO you'd still pay the extra tariffs, just through the store price, or not?
