Re: Mortal Kombat 3 black screen

This is correct, but some games in the ~2500 titles strong PS1 library might still have issues. xStation did receive a ton of updates, though. It's what turned it into the promised accurate ODE. That's why I stopped believing in chips, interfaces, etc. That's all secondary. What matters is the accu...

Re: Mortal Kombat 3 black screen

Missing the point because no boot method in PSIO is 100% but full boot in xstation always works unless the game itself is incompatible due to being a bad dump, mechacon issue or needs new firmware I believe OP made a point that having to change modes is inconvenient. Not 100% but some games still h...

Re: Mortal Kombat 3 black screen

I believe this should be in the firmware for games that require it as the OP I was referring to said it's inconvenient to keep switching between modes, I agree with this. it's inconvenient to configure each time for a separate game! You can manually define them. It's described in the Systems Manual...

Re: Mortal Kombat 3 black screen

Actually from my experience very few games won't work with Fastboot I tested over 200 pal games and only 1 I had to resort to using full boot or if you want to avoid issues just always choose full boot it's not much slower than fast boot to be honest. Yes, it's the same with PSIO. Only a few games ...

Re: Mortal Kombat 3 black screen

it's inconvenient to configure each time for a separate game! Even with X-station, you have to figure out which game works with Fastboot and which doesn't. They won't fix this. It's just the nature of the beast. Besides, it's not an actual incompatibility to change a mode. A game is incompatible if...

Re: Question about the possible PS2 ODE

Wait, there's a ODE in development for ps2? Why just not use the fat model with a internal HD? I've been using for years and never had issues whatsoever. Compatibility is not 100% for one my strikers 1945 1 + 2 doesn't work on OPL With a PS2 ODE you would be able to play PS1 and PS2 games on same c...

Hi are you sure about that as his original instructions did work for ady05113?

The original files linked by TriMesh for PU-8 are incorrect, the ferrite bead and resistor need swapping for install on a PAL unit. The picture from Tonico is correct for resistor and ferrite bead positions. If we did it in the reverse and moved the components from the PAL model to the NTSC one wou...

Colour mod on PS1

I have a PAL PU-8 scph-1002 and an NTSC PU-8 scph-1001

I was wondering if I could still use Trimesh's instructions to colour mod my pal pu-8?
As those instructions involved a pu-8 and pu-7 donor

I hope you don't mind me saying those other things are nice to have but game compatibility should always be top priority

Will games like Vib Ribbon ever be fixed?

There's a number of games on the Jira bug report that talk about restricted SPU registers. I read some time ago that it won't be possible without changing the way it is installed. Freezes after selecting your difficulty. This is caused by PSIO failing to have access to the SPU registers which is not...
