Re: Supported SD Cards
Actually, now I've filled the card up, the menu initial progress bar almost loads then hangs for a bit, then reports there are no folders on the SD card with error code 80000005! They are all there, all 300+ of them.
Is there a limit to the number of folders? The same card worked fine earlier.

Re: Supported SD Cards
i think something should mentioned in the manual. limitation was about 64 or 256 folders/files in the root (limited by Menu software, nit by device)

It's been a while, but I believe the Systems Manual already has that information. I'll have to check however.

Re: Supported SD Cards
Is that something that can be addressed in a future update then? With the price coming down on 256gb+ cards now I can't imagine it's going to be an uncommon issue.

Yes, I should be able to lift that and release a new version. I'll look into it when I've got time.RetroRepair wrote:Is that something that can be addressed in a future update then? With the price coming down on 256gb+ cards now I can't imagine it's going to be an uncommon issue.
It will probably be in a major revision (which is coming up soon) because of Multi-Disc support.

Sounds good! I'll remove the extra games for the moment then and get testing.

Awesome. Any problems, use the feedback on the website under "Support" -> "Report a Problem".
Re: Supported SD Cards
I understand that 32GB is the largest card officially supported by the PSIO, but can using a larger card potentially cause damage to the PSIO and/or Playstation? Or is it more a case of things just might not work correctly when using a larger card?

Re: Supported SD Cards
Great, thanks. When the "32GB-maximum" changes in a firmware update, do you anticipate it going to 64GB, or jumping higher than that?Shadow wrote:No, it wont cause damage whatsoever.aloram wrote:I understand that 32GB is the largest card officially supported by the PSIO, but can using a larger card potentially cause damage to the PSIO and/or Playstation? Re: Supported SD Cards
It should be possible, but the Menu System will run very slow. I'll have to test that theory.aloram wrote:Great, thanks. I may have to re-program the whole thing and break it up into memory better to it renders in chunks.
Honestly however, I can't say. I reckon I need to get myself a 128GB card and start testing

Re: Supported SD Cards
I used this Sandisk 64GB MicroSD card and it seems to work fine from the brief spot checking I did last night (after a FAT32 format of course).

Re: Supported SD Cards
The card I posted above still works. I suspect since you said "good seller" that may not be from Amazon directly, you may have received a bootleg which happens a lot.

SDXC cards will not work, you need SDHC cards.eightbitminiboss wrote:I used this Sandisk 64GB MicroSD card and it seems to work fine from the brief spot checking I did last night (after a FAT32 format of course).

Re: Supported SD Cards
The card works fine after formatting it to FAT32 like it says in my post duder.

YMMV of course, but for me it's fine.
