We'll be working on that very shortly. At the moment, we're trying to get "Wipeout XL" and "Wipeout 2097" working again properly.

We'll take a look at that again after we check out "Wipeout XL" and "Wipeout 2097".

In the next Menu System update (greater than V2.6.0), we've fixed string lengths from sometimes exceeding the screen width. They should now truncate with an ellipsis correctly. This is fixed in all areas where it used to happen and not just in the MULTIDISC selection menu as shown in the examples below :)

We're also working on fixing an issue where folder names with a period (full-stop) in them would cause the automatic ellipsis logic above to fail entirely (EG: "CAPCOM vs. SNK". The logic would trigger and think ". SN" was the end of the string because we programmed the system in the early prototype menu days to look for extensions by default).

Hi metek,is soul blade the same game, fighting game from namco, predecessor of soul calibur?
I think Soul Blade is ntsc and Soul Edge is pal version.
I tried arcade mode in soul blade, and its working fine for me.
Maybe try the ntsc version.

Okay. I did some testing, and Soul Blade [NTSC-U/C] works, but Soul Edge [NTSC-J] does not. We will look into it when we can. Feel free to create an account on our JIRA server and watch the issue so you'll be notified of any updates.

I'm scared the more people have PSIO, the more problems will pop up. The PS1 development became very, very advanced due to the system's popularity. Some devs used methods which are not documented anywhere. The same thing is still a problem with Open PS2 Loader. For example, it took years to fix Shadow Hearts 2 because the game uses an extremely weird code for the CD/DVD mechanism, which doesn't make much sense and it's idiosyncratic to this one game, so it took a long time to even debug it.

We'll get through them, and as the code becomes more perfected, the compatibility should only get better and better with lesser problems and issues.

That's what I'm hoping for, but I'm scared of issues which might end up unresolvable, like the Vib Ribbon's SPU registers access. :crying

Also, it must be tiring to work on new issues which seem to pop up each time some of the old ones are patched. I guess that's programming at its worst. Theoretically, if the device works for one game perfectly, it should work so for other games, too. After all, it's the same CD-ROM being emulated. Sadly, weird code was being written back in the days. Even Sony had problems with the PS1 emulator for PS3/PSP. They basically ended up with config files for each title. It's one of the reasons why they weren't releasing that many PS1 Classics.

I'm honestly shocked those DC and Saturn ODEs are 100% compatible. I didn't imagine it could work just like that.
