I got to install the update today and i played around with it for a little bit. I like the opening video.

Can't wait for the memory card feature. Things seem smoother too.

There's a memory card feature coming?! Writing save files to the SD card instead of the memory card?

Just curious, I haven't tested all the settings etc., but is anyone else having problems with games not working since the update? My WipeOut XL freezes on the race load screen like it used to, except it freezes earlier now.

We'll take another look at Wipeout and the other game issues later. At the moment, I'm working flat out on this Fastboot issue. I've managed to finally find the reason why 'Disruptor' and 'Lifeforce TENKA' freezes. Something strange happening in the VSync routines which is handled though the controller logic (Sony's design, not ours). I've disabled it for now which is okay since we don't need VSync for rending a single frame (the PSIO logo) :)

Looks like it freezes on the loading screen at "0.17%" no matter what XA/CDDA mode is selected. We'll look into this again, but I remember Wipeout was always a painfully hard game to get working (Psygnosis programmers used to touch the K1 register a lot which was very naughty of them, and they would also do very tricky low-level logic things with the hardware itself, so if PSIO doesn't replicate these in the CD-ROM logic we wrote, then the games they made have issues).

Confirmed. It's a Psygnosis game, so it's doing something naughty with the hardware. Probably the same issue why Wipeout doesn't work. Do you remember if this ever used to work on previous firmwares?

Also, can you submit it here please so we can import it into JIRA easily :)

So yeah, Psygnosis... Colony Wars is giving me trouble now too. Black screening when I load the second disc after loading my game from the memory card.

Hmm. It's hard to fix those issues because we need the Memory Card save so we can try it ourselves. I'll try to get the 'Memory Card Manager' finished off so we can give customers the ability to at least copy their saved data and send it to us.

That will make testing alot easier when it comes to certain issues.

I agree with the memory card manager making things easier to test and forward saves etc. These "New 'n' Tasty" ;) features are getting better and better!!!

Adidas Power Soccer [PAL] seems to now be working on the latest ARM (V2.5.1), Menu System (V2.6.0) and FPGA (STY1 25/2/2018) firmwares. I will try to get these firmwares released today.

Wipeout XL [NTSC] or Wipeout 2096 [PAL] is still freezing however, so we'll need to take a look into them closer.

I've been away for some time, nice work on the updates! any of these move the XA decoding to the ARM in order to improve quality?
