Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread
Works fine, what was up with the removal of double buffering? What did it initially add verse what it takes away? I love technical curiosities- Thanks

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread
The double-buffering wasn't helping and was causing Final Fantasy to not work. Originally it was added to fix Ghost in the Shell, but that works now without it meaning it was an ARM timing issue. We might add double-buffering back however since it may have caused some other games to stop working, but we need to look into it more.
Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread
There's a typo in the Downloads section.
Menu System is v2.3.3 now, not v2.3.2.
Also the changelog inside reports v2.3.2 but no info about new v2.3.3.

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread
Are you sure? I thought it was 2.3.2.
Ah. I see what's happened. That's the exact same mistake I did before. It's because of the automatic build version increment feature I have in my source control. I flagged the software itself as 2.3.3, but it was supposed to be 2.3.2! What I will do is add a new feature or wait for the ARM/FPGA logic to change and re-release it as 2.4.0. Thanks for pointing that out.

Just in general. Been a little quiet in the community lately. Any big breakthroughs in functionality?

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread
We're working on fixing an SD Card bug where some cards will refuse to boot on PSIO, improving the 'hook' logic for XA/CDDA playback, updating the Fastboot (FBOOT) code, improving the SD Card direct memory access timing, adding full ATV support, improving the XA decoding algorithm, fixing timing issues in the ARM logic, and above all, getting mass production ready for everyone still waiting for PSIO.
We plan to have a new major firmware update for PSIO by the end of August, with minor changes along the way. Expect a new firmware perhaps during this week.

I could not change the update. I copied the ARM and Menu Systems files to the USB flash drive, as usual. And ... nothing but the Sony logo.
