Direct Boot with modchip

Post by MeteK » March 22nd, 2017, 1:45 pm

Hello !

Is it normal that when my PSIO is plugged without any sd card, i can't direct boot backups ?

They are launching fine by PSIO's menu when i do "load CD".

Otherwise i need to unplug the PSIO to have direct boot working.

Do you have a modchip installed?

Okay, right. Yes it's normal. When PSIO is plugged in, it's always in SD mode. We might change this behaviour however so that when the SD Card is ejected, it's forced in CD mode.

Last time i turned on my system i was able to run a game with the unit plugged in but no sd card, granted i do not have a mod chip. I have not updated in a long time so i do not know if the firmware effects it or maybe just a mod chip.

Obviously Matt know's best.

The firmware might have changed it but we're not aware of such an event happening. I'll have to check that actually.
