Maybe we can add this to the System Console as a massive organised drop down box, or selectable text field where it will spit out the selected games CU2 sheet.

Do you mean add it into a firmware update? If so, that's a great idea.

I mean, update the Win32 EXE as a completely new version since it needs to be built into the machine binary.

I'm still confused about all this.

1. I thought CU2 files were only required for games that have CD audio. Why did Skoomadude make hundreds of them?

2. Is it okay to rename the CU2 files after I download them? For

3. After I add the CU2 file to my game's folder, do I delete the CUE sheet that came with the BIN file?

Thanks.

1 some games will not even run without the cu2 files, for example both doom games will not go past the open intro. 2 you have to rename the cu2 files to match the name of the img, bin, iso you have. 3 The cue file is not needed.

some games check cdda tracks.
some check curtain amount - Tomb Raider 1 and 2
some send endless requests/commands to try paly cdda if there's no cu2.

some game freeze if there's cu2 - Contra. (need check it why)

Not having a lot of luck with these. I know the CU2 and BIN files need to be the same name, but does the CDDA option in the PSIO menu need to be turned off? For instance, I'm just trying Ridge Racer, and I can't get the music to play at all.

I tried every setting and still couldn't get the music to play in the game. I tried the PAL CU2 file as well, no better. I almost think it's the dumps themselves.

i've seen Ridge Racer, it's used .ape files as cdda tracks, which won't work, we need to use all-in-one image

I downloaded a redump of Ridge Racer, but it's got the tracks broken up as bin's. Will this even work on PSIO?

I will be honest, I absolutely HATE finding the images of disc-based systems. There's been too many dumping formats, and the like, it's very painful. PSIO has been a breeze to use, it's getting the games which causes all the pain!

start daemon tools and make virtual drive, mount the cue file.
start imgburn and make an image,as source you take the virtual drive, you wil get an bin cue file.
then you must create a cu2 file.

The new Systems Console application will help you in this situation greatly, but it's still in development. For now, use DAEMON Tools and ISOBUSTER.

I have received my PSIO today, and thank God, my soldering has held water! Really cool device, I'm going to have some fun with it.

About the CU2, and pardon my ignorance, is there no program into which I can either drag and drop an image or mount and have it read to produce a CU2? There are some BIN CUE image files for which I can't find the appropriate CU2.

Many thanks, and also to those who have made the large batches already. I actually only just found this issue today after being absent from the boards for a bit.

We have a program, but it's not released yet. I'm trying to get it finished, but it's hard because I've got so much to do. I'll release it without the USB functionality I guess, since the CU2 and CDDA converting tools are highly required for the users of PSIO.

Hey that's great, thanks for getting back to me. Not to hassle, but how soon do you reckon it'll be before release?

Can't say when it'll be released, but hopefully within 2 weeks.
