Thanks 'kikujade'! We are constantly putting in a lot of effort into it, and this is just the beginning... ;)

Currently I'm working on adding possible background (wallpaper) support and a pop-up keyboard for using a new search function. Apart from that, we are working on exFAT support which will allow SD Cards I believe up to 2 TB to work. We are also updating the FPGA buffering logic to help fix a few games which broke in the previous release, as well as updating the ATV registers which will allow full dynamic XA/CDDA volume control.

For now, here is a taste of what's coming up in the next Menu System update ;)

Code: Select all

 - [Bug Fix] An issue where directories after selection 255 would loop back to the first directory has been fixed.
 - [Bug Fix] An issue where "NAMCO Museum Volume 3" wouldn't boot has been fixed.
 - [Feature] PSIO now has a built in boot manager called the 'System Loader'. The cartridge will boot into it when an issue happens on power on of the PlayStation console.
 - [Feature] FBOOT.BIN is no longer required on the SD Card as a seperate file. It is now built into PSIO's Flash ROM. Delete it from your SD Card if prompted.
 - [Feature] MULTI-DISC titles now have the ability to manually select what disc to boot.
 - [Improvement] When resetting PSIO (by using [START + SELECT] on power on), the logo now displays.
 - [Improvement] Text scroller updated slightly.
 - [Improvement] Under the 'Screen Adjustment' stage of the setup procedure, the text scroller can now be sped up or frozen with the R1 and L1 buttons.
 - [Improvement] If more than 256 items exist in the root directory, PSIO will now say "Please Wait!" whilst the PlayStation is processing data.
 - [Improvement] When scrolling right on a filename that has been truncated by an elipsis, the scroll indicators now hide if the string has extended over the top of them.

Omg, yes! If that memory feature makes it too, then i will be so freaking happy. Going to buy a 256gb card before the year is up.

Not so much news in relation to the Memory Card logic. I'll get that sorted after we've finished all the stuff we're currently working on.

Background logic is almost finished. You'll be able to load a background in via a single BMP on the SD Card called (maybe) "BACKGROUND.BMP" saved at 320x256 resolution.

Oh, we are hoping to have hundreds upon hundreds in stock in November ;)

Great, hope I can snag one for Christmas..I don't want to mod my PS1 until I actually have a PSIO.

Really exited for the exFAT update....this means we can literally have the entire PS1 library on a single SD card?! :D

These updates are getting beefier and beefier. Can't wait to get a PSIO again, playing off CD's and stuff in the meantime which is OK I guess but damn I miss my PSIO. Looking forward to all the forthcoming bells and whistles as well as compatibility improvements!!!

I'm curious about your latest update. "PSIO port manufacturing", is that a solution you are implementing for scph-9000s and PSones?

I have like 5 playstations with parallel ports, but it'd be nice to have one of those psones with a soledered psio and those portable screens. That way i could take it to work and play in my lunch time. Obviously this is not a formal request or anything, but it'd be nice to see.

No, it's for the parallel port. The black 68-pin connector found on PSIO Cartridges.
We will work on a solution for the PSone later.

Looking forward to that for sure. I'd like to solder a PSIO board to a 5501 model so everything is internally mounted, just a Frankenstein of a project i have in mind, nothing pressing or a must do really.
