Ripping CDs with PSIO

Post by Triv » February 5th, 2016, 4:35 am

Hi there, i checked the FAQs and I didn't see this in there. I was wondering, with PSIO active does it shut off the laser disc assembly? I was curious if there is/will be a feature where you can insert a disc and rip it straight to your PSIO the same way Multiman works with the PS3.

No, it doesn't disable the CD-ROM entirely. We did think about this feature, but there is no point because the point of PSIO is to replace the poor quality CD-ROM anyway, so when trying to rip discs in the PlayStation itself, you'll just get read errors and in the end, a poorly ripped image.

technically possible to implement such feature
but it's 2x cd-rom speed!
it'll be so slow, which doesn't make sense.
