No, someone had an issue with 256 GB when they put more than 254 games.

At this point I have to comment that using 32GB to 64GB SD cards is a great, safe bet. However, if you use 128GB SD cards (as I currently do); then that's solely at the end users discretion and even then I don't recommend it really.

Waiting on my PSIO to ship and still haven't picked an SD card yet....I would love to use a 128gb one just so I don't have to keep swapping out 32GB ones. The kingston one squallrs linked seems to have become somewhat hard to get on Amazon.

Does anyone know if this would work?

Check my previous post on page 3 of this topic, it's an eBay link and at a great price too. I use that 128GB card and it works beautifully. Grab my GUI format tool I believe on page 4 to format it.

Thanks for the help. I actually already checked out that link but as I am in Ireland it works out pretty expensive with shipping and the dollar currency rates. Closest I can find on Amazon UK is this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Extrem ... 2B128&th=1

However it's a good bit more expensive than the one I posted in my previously.

Any suggestions for the best tool to format a 128gb SDXC to FAT32 on windows? I recently ordered the 128gb Kingston one that a few people on this thread have!

Hi,

My 256GB Kingston SD is loading fine. I've read on release notes that the folder limit have been raised to 512 or so. But the problem is that even it's reading 368 folders right now I can't load games above 254. On game 255 it says that there's no image and anything above is starting from the beggining of the list. Title says "Rollcage" but the game loaded is "007 - The World Is Not Enough" - first on my list.
Can anything be done with this?

I tested it only on a 32 GB card since that's all PSIO is designed to accept. I'll have to check that out, but I don't have an SD Card greater than 32 GB at the moment. Can you please bug report this on the website? Thanks.

Glad that helped! Keep that tool handy for all your SD card and USB stick needs!!! Especially for all these reverse engineered game loaders for the old disc based systems.

Hi, I want to report that exactly same thing happened when I tried 32GB SD cards. Any game above 255th folder was looped from the beggining.

I've acquired a new SanDisk Ultra 64 GB 48 MB/s SDXC Class 10 I SD Card for testing with PSIO.
I've had to use the GUIFORMAT.EXE program to format it as FAT32 as it came from the factory formatted as exFAT.
I am also looking into embedding this program into the Systems Console to make formatting easier.

I will do some tests with it on PSIO during the next few days as well as test a previously mentioned bug where after 255 folders (EG: if 368 folders were placed in the root) the game selection would loop (EG: selecting game 255 would select game 1 from the Menu System's list).

Hi,

On the latest firmware/menu the problem still persists. :(

Okay, this is a separate issue, since the change logs clearly don't mention anything in regards to the 255 folder bug. Thanks for letting me know however! I will take a look at that now and try to get it fixed for the new release :)

Okay, I've tried to replicate this issue, but I can't get it to not work. I have 510 folders on my SD Card (and two files, thus making a total of 512 items which the Menu System will allow), but even if I select folder 509, it does load the correct game. This is on an 8 GB SD Card though, so it's within the FAT32 specs of not exceeding 32 GB. We have a 256 GB SD Card on the way, so until that arrives, I will require some more diagnostic information.

So, can someone with this issue please send me a tree listing of their SD Cards contents?
Also, please run an 'attrib' command on the SD Card so permissions can be seen (example below).

*EDIT* Ah, I found the issue. It's been fixed and I will release the patch in the next Menu System firmware. The issue was because of a pointer being casted to an "unsigned char" which only gave 0-255 (hence why after game 255 it would loop back to 0). It's now being casted to an "unsigned int".
