Wipeout 2097/XL

Post by manic23 » July 17th, 2017, 1:11 am

I can't find the thread at the moment, but I'm sure I remember reading that Wipeout 2097/XL is now working with the latest firmware, is that right? I only ask, as I have the latest Arm, FPGA & Menu on my PSIO but XL is hanging after loading the track after clicking Start. Any ideas?

Are you using a CU2 sheet with it and have you tried using K1V1?

I am using the CU2 that the system console created when converting to single .bin, not sure about K1V1 will check that now...

I managed to get it to work once!

Here are my findings...

1. I was using K1V3 so I changed it to K1V1
2. If you load the game, then immediately click Start (in Vector Class) the game loads fine.
3. If you load the game, then click on the Racing Class option and choose a different class like Venom for example the game will hang half way through the loading process.
4. Same with K1V3 & K1V2

I have Menu System 2.3 (Build 3), ARM 2.4.7 & FPGA SDB1 16/6/2017

Very odd, thanks for your help though.

We will check it out. We're just working on ripping out the core of the ARM and making large adjustments to the timing which might help with this issue. Otherwise, it's a double-buffering issue which we will also be looking into. Thanks for letting us know however :)

Same issue here with latest firmwares.
Tested Wipeout XL and Wipeout 2097, same crash on loading screen.

They used to work, but we changed the way the FPGA handles data. We will check them out again, but please report them via the 'Report a Problem' link on our website. Thanks.

Sorry yes, I should have used that 'Report a Problem' link, will do for future. I really hope you manage to sort the Wipeout games, Wipeout is my favourite gaming series on any platform absolutely love the games with a passion :)

If you need me to do any more testing with beta f/w for example please let me know, i'd be happy to help.
