I did quick tests :
TF Beast Wars Metals (Japan) - worked for me (USB mode, no CDDA, I'll check on SD)
TF Beast Wars Transmetals (USA) - stuck after cutscenes, but the reason is weird, as idea maybe it's bad image.

you need to get .CU2 file. but I guess, you still not work because of cdda issue, which will be fixed in next firmware update.

quick test shows that it just requires cdda support or CU2 file (24 tracks, http://redump.org/disc/37548/)

I see it happend sometimes, randomly. as far as I see, that's another example of using customized code of cd-library. non-standart behavior in some cases

Yeah, your idea is good))
to change an image try to use "Stop-Close Image" , it should emulate open-lid event, then Open-Run image.
it will show only one image/game in list , it's normal, press X to run it
(if it's not working, for any case I will also check)

Yeah, it's normal behaviour, because you start running a game image directly, instead of using Menu (which install a special hook to activate sound channel from cd-drive to spu)

Anti-mod protection is based on customized or hand-made code (from scratch),
it doesn't use normal cdlib)
non standard behaviour,
no sync between commands,
no interrupt handler
it uses accesing hw regs directly

as idea, some file near a game image, with script data, a game ps-exe will be patched on the fly or after loaded into mem
no promises) depends on demand, and current more important tasks
but idea of using sort of script interpitator for ps-exe patching in our scope (to get Vib Ribbon working)
