Re: Feature Requests

I have a cheap 16x memory card with LED display and I also can't switch bank when PSIO is running a game. A quick workaround is to remove PSIO SD card, power on the system, set the memory bank to desired # and leave it there for the rest of the game session. If you needed to change bank mid-game, yo...

PU-16?

Probably a long shot but can PU-16 be modded with switch board and work with PSIO? It is model 5903 and is the only version I know of that has built in VCD. http://i.imgur.com/WRpbCsj.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UDKphDN.jpg It's the only images I can find, and only 1 on eBay. I don't plan to get one, it'...

Re: Supported SD Cards

I had an issue with PNY brand memory card 32GB UHS3, it wouldn't boot on power on. I had to pop the card out then re-insert it to get my PS to boot PSIO. I don't know if it's the UHS3 part, those are SDXC feature while PSIO does not support SDXC at all.

Re: PSIO for models PSONE

PSOne and the 9000 both do not have parallel port. You will need to wire over 40 to connect PSIO to the motherboard. 40 tiny wires onto tiny spots all while keeping them short so you don't end up with huge mess or so much wire the PSOne can't close at all. An average Joe can't do this. You are bette...

Re: Mega CD

Model 2 is more common, probably should start with those?

Re: PSIO for models PSONE

At this time, only the parallel port model will be available to beta tester. I don't know when the information on how to install on PSOne will be made available but I assume the detail will be out when the PS-IO is finished and ready for full release. The creator can probably do the install service ...

Re: Mega CD

Maybe a simple poll to see which Saturn is more common? In all my time finding Saturns in the wild, all of them were the later model with round button, never oval button. All of them I checked, has 21 pins and only 1 of them had 64-pins IC, the rest were much later 32-pins IC Only oval button has 20...

Or at least a way to just transfer data between PSX cards and SD cards.

Re: Feature Requests

Isn't that dependent on PSX's internal video circuitry to determine if the output is NTSC and PAL? Or is that in the game disk itself?

Re: Donation

What about PCEIO? Something for PC Engine or Turbo Duo. There's lots of good games on CD but some CD-ROM don't play nice with CD-R and some CD-ROM is prone to cracked gear.

Re: preparing for psio

In my opinion, speed is less important than the fact you can do it. I have a device that lets me connect my ps1 memory cards to the computer, thus my library of save files are backed up (yay). It runs off a serial port. The fact that it works, not how quickly it works, is what is important to me. :...

Re: PSIO Compatable with PS2??

Component IS analog! Only DVI and HDMI are digitals. Isn't HDMI and DVI the same thing, just different plug style? Anyway what about PS3? The first generation of PS3 has hardware support for PS2 but I couldn't find if PSX games are still emulated like PS2 did or if there's hardware PSX support? Pla...

Re: USB

I'm also with the dev, using SD is preferable over USB for connecting to memory cards. I use Arduino and I've faced similar problem. With SD card and it's oh-so-hard to deal with 8 or 9 pins, I can directly read content without needing extra stuff other than 3.3v to 5v level shifter if I'm running t...

Re: preparing for psio

PSIO will work with a PSone, but you will need to solder it manually. It works with both :) but he would be in that part of the ps1? on the outside of? need to adjust anything? On all fat PSX (except for the last series the 9000 series models) you mount them on the outside where parallel port is. O...

Re: Where will PSIO ship?

The PSOne and the 9000 series PSX are missing the parallel port, which PSIO needs. As mentioned above, you will need to mod it to add parallel port support. I don't know how rare the older series PSX are in your country but I would try to get older style just for parallel port so it'd be easier than...

Re: PSIO Technical Question

From what I remember, SDXC is just yet another set of instruction to read and access it properly since it still uses the same SD slot and pinout. In theory PSIO should be able to handle SDXC if the data is added to the firmware. 32GB will probably be enough to hold some of the games you still like t...

Re: Donators Prototype same as Full Version?

As I understand, when prototypes are ready to go, supporters will get a chance to buy proto. Anyone who doesn't donate will have to wait until it's finished testing and debugged, and final version is released.
