Re: How good can a humble PSX look on a brand new 4K OLED?

The problem I find mainly is latency. Is there any noticeable delay from when you press a button on the controller to picture/sound update?

Re: Load a ISO game outside the PSIO Bios (Homebrew Custom ISO Launcher EuroDemo Like) ?

Oh, I see what you mean. You'd like the Menu System to offer such an option. Well, we can do it if you'd like. A text file on the SD Card in the game working directory could be used to have the 'description' and 'mini manual'. We can also try and offer 3D cover art support too. I'll add this to the ...

Re: Load a ISO game outside the PSIO Bios (Homebrew Custom ISO Launcher EuroDemo Like) ?

You can do it by renaming the game you want to boot as MENU.SYS, but then you'll lose XA/CDDA playback since the patch logic isn't triggered into the interrupt vector. We'll have to make an official way on how to do this and release it in the next update.

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

June orders will get the new 2018 design ? I hope because it seems really a lot better. Yes, they sure will :) That looks fantastic, well done to you guys. Is the new version updated in any way compared to the older versions, in terms of spec/hardware etc, or is it just cosmetic changes? Thank you....

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

Update time :) First off, we have a new box design which is much better than the previous one we have been using. Secondly, they now include custom made inserts which (you guessed it), can house the 'PlayStation Parallel I/O' cover so they wont get lost. We have also been testing with a whole range ...

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

New updated PSIO's PCB's completed. This time, they're black 8-)

I'm currently hand soldering one up to verify everything is still stable.
Do I miss doing this? Uhm... No

Re: Helping to add USB loading support via Linux

The problem is we use dynamic link libraries to handle the USB protocol layer, so getting it to work under Linux would be an extreme amount of work since it'd all have to be re-coded in pure C++ logic. Plus, drivers don't even exist from ARM for Linux as far as I know, so even at that low of a level...

Re: Can't upgrade or boot PSIO

Okay, so the Menu System is booting no matter what file you have which means the update process went okay. Also, PSIO currently does not support SDXC cards, so 128 GB doesn't work (which is why you're having problems in the first place) but we're about to release an update which should fix that issue.

Re: Can't upgrade or boot PSIO

Try deleting only one of the two files. Which one stops making it boot. Is it FIRMWARE.AFW, UPDATE.FPG or both?

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

I think it's the 14L2. I don't really want to move it to see the product label because the logic analysers clips/probes are pretty delicate.

I'm pretty sure the tracking number gets handed over to Australia Post. Please email us the tracking number anyway, and just give it maybe 2-3 weeks to update in their systems and we'll check it for you.

Re: My PSIO not working !!!

That's an odd problem. Looks like an SD Card problem or the parallel port isn't making a good connection. Try updating the firmwares too and make sure you're using the latest ones.

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

Cool! As I sometimes had connection problems with my PSIO: Will it be possible to equip earlier PSIO devices with the new connector? The connection problems would be from corrosion on the PSX female connector. No, you can't replace the old connector with the new connector (not unless you send it in...

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

After much discussion with our manufacturer, I've managed to explain and assist them in making the connection better by adjusting the pin angle/bow to ensure the connector is firmer and 'snaps' into position as the critical bending point of the pins is reached. So, we now have new parallel port samp...
