Re: PSIO was freeze.

I have replied to your email. It says that I have had "Biohazard - Directors Cut (DUAL SHOCK) NTSC-J" running for 3 hours now with no problems. To me, it sounds like your parallel port might be not making a good connection with your PlayStation. Please try cleaning the connector on both PSIO and you...

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

Shipping will begin in mid-August :) I guess the 4-5 weeks thing was quite the underestimation! Hopefully mid-August will be somewhat closer in approximation. :-? It's really tough to give precise times because everything is manufactured overseas and sometimes the companies who produce our parts ca...

Ah I see. I'll have to take a look into that actually. I don't even own a Pocketstation for starters so I'll have to grab one :)

Re: Feature Requests

PSIO can't control the controller inputs though. The controller bus is wired directly to the CPU.

Re: Feature Requests

Well, support for wireless controllers would be awesome. wouldn't it be possible with a bluetooth dongle to have support for wireless controllers ? Yes, that would be possible, but we would have to design a new circuit board to retro-fit inside the original controller plastic case/shell. Then we wo...

Can't you just run the Pocketstation ISO's as you would any other Japanese game?
Are there such things as Pocketstation ISO's? I thought the Pocketstation data or mini-games were on the real PlayStation game and you would unlock and save them to the Pocketstation to be played later.

We are working on a virtual Memory Card.
We have not thought about wireless controllers.

Interesting. Would you be able to send me your directory structure (so I can replicate it) and your MULTIDISC.LST file please? An email has requesting this information has also been sent to you.

Re: can psio support games which need specialized bios?

Sorry, but that's not possible to do. PSIO only has access to certain CPU data and address lines and the BIOS uses quite a few of them directly which would still require soldering a new ROM.

Nope, I didn't even seen your post until now. Haha. Talk about perfect timing :)
You should have your mainboard back within 2-3 weeks (DHL generally ships pretty darn quick so maybe even less).

Re: can psio support games which need specialized bios?

Yes, PSIO will boot fine with a modified BIOS, but if it doesn't however for whatever reason (poor implementation of the original boot logic, etc), we won't return or replace your cartridge since it's not a cartridge fault.

Re: Let's talk about the PocketStation

Probably not. Homebrew (PS-EXE files and data files) would be uploaded directly to the PSX via PSIO's USB connection. A debugger is also in the works.

Re: Mainboard service January 2018

Hi, I haven't actually checked any emails for a few weeks. I've been flat out with assembly. Your mainboard however will be sent this week. I was waiting on the shipping boxes to arrive which they should do tomorrow. Also, no one has actually received their mainboard yet so you're not the only one. ...

Install a mod-chip. Get the Mayumi V4. PSIO will not act as a mod-chip.
You'll need a modchip since PSIO will only boot original discs for legal reasons. This is described in the FAQ.

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

Yes, you'll get both at the same time ;) Haha, I do the same whenever my mates come over too. It's awesome. You don't have to worry about your original CD-ROM's getting cracked or scratched, or, if your system was modchipped, the game freezing up on you from a worn out laser system. You just drink, ...
