Re: Pound Technology PSX\PS2 HDMI adapter review + Teardown

And if you happen to have a nice VGA CRT, you can go for the “official” but very niche solution of monitor + Waka upscan convertor (assuming you can manage to find one at a resonable price). Looks fantastic and has none of the resolution switching issues you unfortunately get with the OSSC in games ...

Re: Compatibility with 1001 unit?

Yes, all PU-7 units have the banding issue, which is why we can recommend to always avoid this revision. For PU-8, only the earliest ones have banding, so we cannot say to always avoid these (mine does not have this issue for example). The best advice is simply to stay away from consoles from close ...

Re: Process for games having 2 (or more) CD ?

End result should be two bin files, two cu2 files, and a single multidisc.lst file; all within a single game folder.

You may have to create the multidisc file by hand.

Re: Problem converting CU3 to CU2

Make sure that you have the .bin extension on the filename in the cue sheet. If the filename contains spaces, it needs to be enclosed in double quotes.

Re: Feature Requests

The Raphnet PS1/PS2 to USB Adapter can also manage saves via a Multitap. Another solution is the Memorycard reader for PS3, there is free 3rd-party PC software available.

The best solution would be save management via PS-IO of course :)

try changing from SCEI to something else in the menu system options screen for the HC05 license type
Tried every license type, still getting the same copy protection screen on bootup.

Re: Issue with Bust a Move 4 NTSCU

I posted about a similar issue with Puzzle Bobble 3 earlier, and according to Yuri the fix will be in the next firmware update. Hopefully this will address the issue with the other games as well.

I use a SCPH-1002 (early PU-8 board with the older 80-pin HC05) as my main gaming unit and of course, it works fine :P
Good point mentioning the board revision, I would try to avoid PU-7 (systems made very close to release date) due to the texture banding issues.

Re: Strange issue with PSIO when using Brook PS3/PS4 to PS2 controller converter

Good news about the memory card issue, thanks for following up.

I can make a report to Brook about the Multitap problem, but I’d like to test it myself first, which I’ll be able to do sometime early next week.

I’ll second the fact that the PSIO works just fine with this model (despite my soldering job not being the best)

Thanks for testing, if there are no memory card issues then I can live with the other bugs for now.

Re: Anti-Mod protection being triggered (Gungage)

That would be Libcrypt, which is the protection used by Spyro 3 and a few other games. PS-IO does not in fact support CD images with subchannel data (from clonecd and the like), so it is required to use patches for these games. The particular game I am using does not have Libcrypt protection though,...

Can anyone confirm that these issues also happen on a system running from disc without the PS-IO or switchboard installed?

If so, then we should probably contact Brook.

Re: Anti-Mod protection being triggered (Gungage)

PSIO doesn't spam the license string unlike a non-stealth modchip. We'll have a look into it though. Cool, thanks. Just to be clear, I do in fact have an older non-stealth Mod installed on my system, but I'm assuming this is ignored when running games from an SD Card (Since your FAQ states that hav...

Re: Left/Right for Page Up/Down

Sure, I'll change this to skip by full pages instead of 2 lines at a time. Thanks Matt, that would be great! While you are at it, would it be too much to ask to have the list jump to the top when you reach the bottom (and vice-versa)? :) But scrolling two lines at a time doesn't make much sense. Lo...

Re: Strange issue with PSIO when using Brook PS3/PS4 to PS2 controller converter

Not PSIO related, but another issue I have found with the converter is that my PS1 has a hard time reading and writing to the memory card when the converter is also being used but can be read fine when a normal controller is connected. Thanks for the heads up, I bought one of these adapters too whi...

Re: Anti-Mod protection being triggered (Gungage)

There is the option of changing the regional flag in PSIO options if that makes any difference to this game? Yeah, I have that option set to "Auto", which should detect that the game is from Japan and set the region to that automatically. I don't have trouble playing any other Japanese games on my ...
