Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

Correct. It was because some customers had an older FPGA firmware, even older than STY1. So when they booted up with the new ARM Firmware (2.6.0) it was freezing due to different CD-ROM reading logic. The idea was that the FPGA Firmware would actually automatically update from the Menu System (sinc...

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

Might have been as old as FPGA SDB1 16-6-2017. I've sent you the FPGA update file now. Please try it and see if it fixes your problem. Mr. Hammond, I think we're back in business! I first thought it'd freeze again, but after like three seconds of "Initialising", it started flashing the FPGA, asked ...

Here's a question: For those getting the lockup: Did you have fast-boot disabled? On mine, I have it enabled to where it skipped the Sony intro, and the update worked fine. I'm wondering if there's anything to that maybe?
In my case, it was disabled.

Update worked fine on my PSIO. It's from the new re-designed batch
Okay. That would be a 9510-2412 model.

What cartridge versions does everyone else have?

Mine is also a 9510-2412 model (December 2017 preorder) and I am having the lock up issue too.

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

Oh, I did not know I could reflash to an older firmware. I'll try that. My board is a PAL PU-8.

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

I've just been trying to update the cartridge. I deleted the old Menu file from the SD card and copied the new one. It went through the update screen, aparently updating the ARM, and then it threw an error telling that I needed to update my ARM. Then I rebooted the console and it got stuck in the in...

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

So if I understood correctly, the XA decoding won't be moved to the FPGA, just improved on the ARM. Is that right?

Anyway, thanks for all the effort put on all these updates. We love you Matt (and Yuri) :praise

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

That's what I'm hoping for, but I'm scared of issues which might end up unresolvable, like the Vib Ribbon's SPU registers access. :crying I think it's only a matter of time. These guys have proven to be capable enough, despite all the criticism they've received. They just need time and people helpi...
