Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

Tbh, I think that's BS imo, as I have not heard anyone else comment anywhere else on the audio being a real problem to not wanting to buy it. The device is great and has come along way the past few years and is near 100% compatible. It's not exactly a deal breaker and most users/customers who buy O...

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

All firmwares must now be downloaded from your account page. With that said, we will have a new update released hopefully by this week as well as an updated 'Systems Manual'. Please dear Lord let it be properly interpolated XA audio. I've been promoting the PSIO as best I can, but a lot of people a...

Re: Multi-Disc load issue

I just use brackets for my multidisc games. Seems to work okay for me. Also not sure if this matters, but I used ImgBurn to make the bin files for RE2, and it only made one BIN for each game. Anyway, here's a screenshot of the format I used for my naming structure for RE2: https://i.imgur.com/9Th9z0...

The quick beep is nothing to worry about. Steady tone is when you've got a short.

Re: Multi-Disc & The MULTIDISC.LST File

Many years ago. This was circa 1997 or so. But yeah, the codes were guaranteed to brick the Gameshark if you put them in. I told them in my follow-up reply that I find it absurd their device could be bricked using its OWN intended function!

Re: Multi-Disc & The MULTIDISC.LST File

Maybe it's just my PS then. Mine seems like a tooth about to fall out with how wobbly it is, and I don't dare just carelessly eject the SD card without holding the PSIO still. I remember bricking a Gameshark in those ports, though with codes rather than physical issues. I remember as a joke sending ...

(Side note: are you sure you have it all the way in? (That's what she said).
Pretty sure I do, the PSIO sort of 'clicks' into place and then stops cold. Problem is it's wobbly, so you don't dare eject the SD card without holding the PSIO firmly in place.

Re: Multi-Disc & The MULTIDISC.LST File

This is something I think needs to be addressed in a firmware update. Users should have some sort of option where you don't have to get up and remove the SD card to let the system know to check for a new disc image. The PSIO isn't exactly rock-solid in my expansion port, so I have to very carefully ...

Re: Folders within folders:

I don't plan on adding sub-folder support at the moment because it's actually quicker to use the 'Search' function ;) I did a youtube video that's about an hour long about my experiences doing the install and getting everything up and running. So far from the people that have emailed or PM'd me, th...

Re: Multi-Disc & The MULTIDISC.LST File

Oh! Does ISO or IMG not work in the *.LST file? They should do, but that may be a bug I need to look into :!: It's not that. He just typed in the wrong extension in his LST file. This also caught me once when I forgot to type in the extension completely. I was like "WHY WON'T IT WORK?!" and then I ...

Re: Multi-Disc & The MULTIDISC.LST File

Okay try this: Go to the Settings >>> Preferences >>> New Document. Then set the defaults to Format = Windows and Encoding = ANSI. Then try making a new document. See if it forces a proper format on the next attempt.

BTW When I opened your LST file, it showed proper formatting on my end.

Re: Alarming issue:

One of the usual suspects in cases like this is Windows' bad habit of hiding known file extensions. Say you right-clicked somewhere, chose "New => Text file", and renamed that to MULTIDISC.LST: it might actually be named MULTIDISC.LST.txt. It'll look fine on your PC, but the PSIO wouldn't be able t...

Re: Doom and Final Doom US:

Not really, only CDDA titles need CU2 files. Single bin & cue files suffice, yet you only need the bin for PSIO to work but I keep the cue file with it in case I need the image again for something else. If you have the redump sets, they are all in Bin & cue format (CDDA titles will have multi bin f...

Re: Multi-Disc & The MULTIDISC.LST File

I see you have mid-level dots instead of blank spaces. Is that how the file names actually look? You might want to try spaces instead of dots, and do the same for the files themselves. Then post pics of both so we can compare if they still don't work.

Change background music?

I'm probably having noob troubles again, but I couldn't find an option in the menu screen to change the background music. You can turn it on or off, but not do the initial type selection. Is this an oversight on my part or does the program really lock the user out of changing the type of BGM? Edit: ...

5501 NTSC USA. I will test it a few more times to see if it was just initial contact jitter. I've also since learned how to put my own wallpaper on and custom cover art for all my games. The hardest thing to figure out was adding a MULTIDISC.LST file and getting it to actually work. The provided PDF...

Re: Doom and Final Doom US:

Okay so it's a good idea to just convert all cues to CU2 then, even if the game doesn't need the conversion. Better to have everything in the same format. One thing I will point out to other beginners like myself just getting used to the PSIO: SAVE YOUR CUE FILES in a folder on your computer! If you...

Re: Doom and Final Doom US:

Disregard. Even though other 'CUE' file images were working fine, these two particular games MUST have the CUE files converted to CU2 in order to run properly. I've since started the process of converting all the CUE files I have into CU2.

Doom and Final Doom US:

I registered with JIRA in order to open these issues, but apparently I'm not allowed to open issues on game compatibility. At any rate, both US versions of Doom and Final doom hang on the loading screen infinitely. This is on the new PSIO that was shipped last month, and on the latest set of firmwar...

Re: Alarming issue:

Also, checked the credits, which play out fine to the end and boots back to the menu (no missing folders) or long menu boot times when skipped mid playback, Then it might be console-specific compatibility issues, because that credit sequence most definitely causes problems on my PSIO. One time it l...
