Re: Gave my PSX a full service! (including DFO install)

Very nice, kudos! can you tell more about the DFO mod? I also live in PAL land and it would be nice to have this - atm I am using a NTSC-U psx that I imported The creator of the DFO posted quite a lot of detailed information here and here (you will need to translate from German for the second link,...

Gave my PSX a full service! (including DFO install)

Thought I'd share some pics of the work I just finished doing on my PSX, quite proud of the progress I've made in recent months. Much cleaner solder work and wire run optimization than the work I've done previously. Firstly, here's a "before" pic of my PSIO mod install.. I cringe a little looking at...

Great the update arrived, thanks a lot! The update process worked fine.
Now I gonna buy a new 256 GB SD card. Any brands or/and card specs you'd recommend?
Or any brands or/and card specs I should avoid?

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

Just installed the new firmware and migrated over to an exFat formatted 256gb SDCard and it all looks to be working flawlessly so far. Will give it a solid bash over the next couple of days, but looking great so far!

Thanks for all of the hard work Matt and crew :)

Re: How good can a humble PSX look on a brand new 4K OLED?

With my setup on the OSSC, roughly 1.5 frames of latency at 60hz (6ms for the OSSC, 20ms for my tv in game mode) .. certainly not as good as a SD CRT, but barely noticeable. I'm fairly sensitive to input latency (I know some people are more forgiving, others less so) and find the OSSC is quite accep...

How good can a humble PSX look on a brand new 4K OLED?

This good! :o Just picked up the TV today (LG 65C7 OLED), trying out a few different configurations, but it's pretty clear it's a keeper! PSX RGB output going into an OSSC with scanline effects enabled (31% strength) and line 4x (960p). The SNES and N64 pics are are from RGB modded consoles, going ...

Re: Assorted PSIO BMP ARTWORK for download!!!

Excellent work! I might add these as a download link to our 'Downloads' page and give credit to you for doing this. Thanks mate! You're welcome to rehost the files if you like. No need to give credit, I'm just happy to help out :) To be honest I wrote the script quite a while ago and sorta forgot a...

Re: Assorted PSIO BMP ARTWORK for download!!!

Hey guys, I created a bash shell script a while ago that scraped a database of cover images and converted them to the format the PSIO wants using ImageMagick. This set contains a fairly complete set of cover images (7005 images). the archive contains 3 folders: ntsc-j (3353 images) ntsc-u (1299 imag...

Just curious, do you notice any delay(s)?
Streaming over USB using the PSIO System Console on my PC, no delays at all that I've noticed. Everything I tried was pretty much flawless for me.

Re: Official PSIO News and Development Thread

While this SDCard bug is a bit of a bummer, I gotta say that it has made me get off my arse and find a long USB cable and give the game streaming feature a try! After I got the hang of loading the menu first and then loading up an ISO (for those that haven't used it, this allows CD Audio to work), I...

I just wanna chime in and congratulate Matt and the rest of his team on the absolutely stellar quality of the whole package. I've never been much of a retail software collector (read: I'm a true blue Australian, therefore I've been a filthy pirate since I got my first computer back in '81), however ...

Re: Sharing my installation experience.

There have been other reports of other users re-soldering their parallel ports and getting their failed cartridges to boot also. It's strange because the ports are rarely used, so stress fractures to the solder joints should be quite rare. If anything, the heat must help lift some oxidation from th...

Sharing my installation experience.

Hi guys, Just wanted to share my experience installing the PSIO in my machine (PU-18, but this probably applies to all models).. After installing the switch board I had no luck getting the cart to work at all.. No cart, no disc in drive -> boots to PSX bios menu (memcards/music player) No cart, game...
